Riyadh is set to host the much-anticipated EV Auto Show 2024 starting tomorrow at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Investment and with the presence of H.E. Dr. Rumaih AL-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport & Logistic Services and Acting President of the Transport General Authority (TGA), this event marks the third edition of the premier electric vehicle (EV) showcase in the Kingdom. Running from September 17 to 19, the show aims to be a pivotal platform for advancing electric mobility in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes sustainability and the growth of the EV sector.
The EV Auto Show 2024 offers more than a mere exhibition; it serves as a forum for actively shaping a sustainable future. Attendees will engage in key discussions on the transition to electric mobility and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s national transformation goals.
The event will feature leading local and international electric vehicle companies, with title sponsor Electromin, platinum sponsors EVIQ and Zahid Tractor, and gold sponsor Volt Charge. Networking opportunities with industry leaders will be available, supported by sponsors such as PWC and knowledge partners including Frost & Sullivan, Roland Berger, and Saudi Electricity Company.
The show will address critical challenges facing the electric vehicle industry, such as EV adoption and charging infrastructure development. It will offer interactive workshops, discussions with global experts, and opportunities for hands-on experience with the latest technologies. Attendees can also participate in test drives and see groundbreaking innovations up close.
Saudi Arabia’s electric vehicle sector is rapidly expanding, with a 271% rise in EV imports in 2023, totaling around 779 vehicles.
The Kingdom aims for at least 30% of Riyadh’s vehicles to be electric by 2030 and to produce 500,000 EVs locally by that date.
