In an effort to bring in more than six million tourists annually by 2030, Qatar Tourism has launched a new advertising campaign featuring English footballer and model David Beckham.
The campaign features Beckham touring the country with several local personalities, exploring spice markets, local street art and other destinations across the Gulf nation.
“Qatar has surprised me with a wide range of great experiences you can have in just 48 hours. The people are warm and welcoming, and it is a great place to spend a few days,” the former footballer said in a statement.
“The people of Qatar are really passionate about their culture and the mix of modern and traditional creates something really special,” he added.
The campaign focuses on Qatar’s potential as a destination for quick weekend getaways, or for turning travel layovers to actual tours. It will shed light on stopover packages being offered to transit travelers.
“I encourage the millions who transit through Qatar every year to follow in David’s footsteps and create their own exciting adventure and memories,” Akbar Al Baker, the chairman of Qatar Tourism, and the group chief executive of Qatar Airways, said in a statement.
Whether it’s sun, sea, and sand, a rich cultural legacy, startling nature, or a cutting-edge and enjoyable city break, “we have something for everyone at fantastic value,” he continued.
