UAE-based PureHealth has strengthened its global presence through Ardent Health, acquiring 18 urgent care clinics from NextCare Urgent Care across New Mexico and Oklahoma.
This expansion includes six clinics under New Mexico’s Lovelace Health System and 12 under Oklahoma’s Hillcrest HealthCare System, marking a vital step in Ardent’s US growth strategy.
The acquisition aligns with PureHealth’s targeted bolt-on approach, aiming to improve global healthcare access while enhancing its presence in key markets. It follows Ardent’s 2024 purchase of nine urgent care centres in East Texas and Topeka, Kansas, further extending its reach in mid-sized urban US communities.
This strategic move supports Ardent’s vision of creating a consumer-centric healthcare ecosystem and strengthens PureHealth’s international portfolio. It also underscores the value of PureHealth’s investment in Ardent, which achieved a successful IPO in July 2024, just a year after PureHealth’s initial stake in May 2023.
Marty Bonick, CEO of Ardent Health, highlighted the acquisition’s importance, stating, “Expanding our urgent care footprint represents significant progress in our mission to create a consumer-focused ecosystem of care in each of the communities we serve.”
Ardent’s impressive performance further validates its strategy. In the third quarter of 2024, the company reported $1.45B in revenue, a 5.2 per cent year-on-year increase, with admissions rising by 6.4 per cent, reflecting continued growth momentum.
