Name: Prateek Suri
Designation: Founder and CEO
Company: Maser Group
Prateek Suri’s entrepreneurial journey has been shaped by resilience, vision, and an unexpected twist of fate. After completing his mechanical engineering at BITS Pilani in Dubai and finishing schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, he began trading branded electronics in India. Policy shifts suddenly disrupted operations, forcing him to divert shipments through Dubai. By chance, these shipments reached Africa and that turning point transformed his trajectory.
What seemed accidental became destiny. In 2016, he founded Maser Group, beginning with assembly and trading of electronics. Africa embraced the company’s vision, fueling extraordinary growth. Maser expanded from 50 million dollars in revenue to one billion dollars in 2024, becoming Africa’s seventh unicorn with a five billion dollar valuation. For Suri, the numbers were secondary to the impact, which included creating jobs, building trust, and unlocking opportunities in markets often overlooked. Following Maser’s acquisition, he launched MDR Investments, channeling capital into infrastructure, shipping, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and social housing across Africa and India.
In 2025, he established the Maser Foundation, focusing on philanthropy in healthcare, women empowerment, and child education. His philosophy is simple yet profound: wealth is a byproduct of hard work, but peace comes from giving back. Dubai has been central to his journey, providing stability, a global platform, and the connectivity that allowed Maser to flourish. Looking ahead, Suri envisions MDR Investments as a global growth engine for Africa while strengthening philanthropic initiatives through the Maser Foundation. For him, true success lies not in valuations but in building ecosystems that last for generations and create meaningful, transformative impact.
