Coastal Areas to Experience Noticeable Drop in Temperatures
Residents of the UAE can anticipate a mix of fair and partly cloudy weather conditions on Wednesday, June 26. Coastal areas are expected to see a significant drop in temperatures, providing some relief from the usual heat.
Humidity levels are predicted to rise by night and into Thursday morning over several coastal regions. Winds will range from light to moderate, occasionally picking up during the day and potentially causing blowing dust. The sea is forecasted to be calm in the Arabian Gulf and range from slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
Temperatures are expected to peak at 47ºC in Gasyoura, Al Quaa, and Sila, while reaching 42ºC in Abu Dhabi and 41ºC in Dubai. The humidity index could climb as high as 90 percent in Dubai and 80 percent in Abu Dhabi.
The extreme heat and humidity in the UAE raise concerns about heat-related illnesses, which pose serious health risks during the summer. Common issues include dehydration, heatstroke, exhaustion, and skin problems.
Doctors are urging people to take extra precautions during extreme heat, especially when working outdoors. To prevent heat exhaustion, individuals should stop their activity and rest as soon as they feel unwell. Resting in a shaded area with a breeze, staying hydrated, and misting or spraying with water can also help alleviate the effects of the heat.
