Parkin has expanded its public parking services in Dubai by introducing two new paid zones in the Mirdif district. This step is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to improving accessibility, increasing the availability of parking spaces, and ensuring smoother traffic flow in areas where demand is consistently high.
Details of the New Parking Zones
The new paid zones introduced in Mirdif are designated as Zone 251C for on-street parking and Zone 251D for off-street parking. These areas have been identified as commercial and densely populated zones where parking demand remains steady throughout the day, necessitating a regulated parking system.
Operational Hours and Tariffs
Parking fees will be applicable from Monday through Saturday, between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, while Sundays and official public holidays will remain free of charge. The tariff structure varies depending on whether the parking is on-street or off-street, the duration of stay, and the time of day – either during peak or off-peak hours.
For both zones, the hourly rate begins at AED 2 during off-peak times and AED 4 during peak hours. The charges increase incrementally for longer durations. For example, a four-hour stay could cost between AED 7 and AED 16, depending on the time and location. Notably, a flat AED 20 fee is available for 24-hour parking exclusively in the off-street Zone 251D.
Peak and Off-Peak Hours Defined
Peak hours are from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Off-peak hours are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This pricing model is part of Parkin’s variable tariff strategy, aimed at managing parking occupancy more efficiently by responding to fluctuating demand throughout the day.
The initiative reflects a broader effort to improve urban mobility by ensuring higher turnover of parking spaces in key locations, aligning with international best practices. Clear signage will be installed across all affected zones to indicate applicable tariffs and timings.
