Parkin Company PJSC has provided an update regarding the implementation of the Variable Parking Tariff Policy.
As previously announced, the policy will come into effect in Dubai from 4th April 2025. Introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), it will apply peak and off-peak rates across all public parking spaces and approximately 35% of developer spaces. Charges will be based on the type of facility—Standard or Premium Parking—and the time of use.
Premium Parking includes spaces in high-demand areas, particularly near public transport hubs. These locations are clearly marked with signage displaying tariff details. Further information is accessible via the Parkin website, mobile app, and social media.
Following discussions with the RTA, around 40% of Parkin’s public parking spaces are now classified as Premium Parking, an increase from the previously announced 35%. The remaining public parking spaces will be designated as Standard Parking.
By the end of 2024, Parkin operated 3,200 spaces across six multi-storey car parks (MSCPs). The MSCP tariff remains unchanged at AED 5 per hour, applicable 24/7. However, a maximum daily charge of AED 40 will apply for stays exceeding eight hours.
Parkin’s private developer portfolio included 19,200 spaces at year-end 2024. Following RTA discussions, approximately 35% of these spaces—up from an earlier estimate of 0%—will now be subject to variable tariffs. These charges will align with those applied to public parking from 4th April 2025, with a detailed tariff structure available in the appendix.
To manage high traffic volumes during major events, a special rate of AED 25 per hour will apply from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM for around 200 spaces near the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). Events covered include GITEX, Beautyworld Middle East, Gulfood Manufacturing, The Big 5, and Automechanika Dubai.
