Oman unveils Sultan Haitham City, a new urban development accommodating 100,000 residents in 20,000 homes. Aligned with Oman’s Vision 2040, Sultan Haitham City spans 14.8 million sqm, integrating sustainable urban planning principles. It features 2.9 million sqm of green spaces, emphasizing the importance of nature within the urban environment.
Sultan Haitham City comprises a diverse range of housing options to cater to the needs of its population. These options include separate villas, semi-attached villas, townhouses, and flats. Moreover, this ensures that residents have a variety of choices when it comes to their housing preferences.
The inauguration of Sultan Haitham City at Bait al Baraka Palace showcased digital panels highlighting the city’s sustainable housing options and commitment to preserving cultural heritage, according to Arabian Business.
The housing units are spread across 19 residential neighborhoods, equipped with a wide range of amenities and services to cater to residents’ needs. The city will boast 23 mosques, including a grand mosque, providing ample places of worship for the community. In addition, the city will include 11 healthcare facilities. Convenient community facilities strategically located for residents’ easy access to parking, playgrounds, and parks.
The city’s external areas are thoughtfully designed to coexist with nature. This includes incorporating natural outdoor spaces and a balanced distribution of building heights and densities. Furthermore, Sultan Haitham City aims to promote sustainable living through the use of renewable resources such as solar energy, wastewater treatment, recycling, and a comprehensive sustainability system.
To ensure convenient access to numerous facilities, we will establish an internal transport network within Sultan Haitham City. Our team strategically plans this transport network to support diverse transportation options, reduce congestion, and align with our sustainability goals.
