Construction on the UAE-Oman Rail Network is advancing consistently, with heavy machinery and equipment already deployed to commence track laying.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hafeet Rail shared: “With steady progress, we close the distance and shape a future that unites us. Each day marks further advancement towards linking the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman through the Hafeet Railway Network.”
Hafeet Rail is the company responsible for developing and operating the cross-border railway connection between Oman and the UAE.
Valued at approximately $2.5 billion (around 960 million Omani rials), the project marks a strategic move towards establishing a unified transport and logistics system, bringing both economic and social benefits to the two nations.
The railway will link five ports and industrial zones in Oman and the UAE. Each freight journey is expected to carry over 15,000 tonnes of goods — roughly the equivalent of 270 standard shipping containers.
