Rebuilding a greener economy and fostering a sustainable world for future generations has been Olive Gaea’s global policy focus since emerging from the pandemic-induced recession.
For Vivek Tripathi, an industry veteran in oil and gas, this is not just a policy statement but a call to action, one that he passionately embraces. In 2021, Tripathi founded Olive Gaea, a venture dedicated to assisting businesses in narrowing their climate action gap, driven by a personal commitment to contributing to a more sustainable world.
Tripathi’s Successful Career in Indian Oil and Gas Industry
Tripathi, with a chemical engineering degree and an MBA in oil and gas management, built a successful career with major companies in India, including Crisil and Cairn Oil and Gas.
Having ascended the corporate ladder, he served as the chief of staff to Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani at Reliance Industries before joining the US energy company Baker Hughes. Inspired by the global calls for sustainable rebuilding during the lockdown, Tripathi identified the need for a regional climate technology company to aid businesses in enhancing their decarbonisation efforts.
Connecting with co-founder Jessica Scopacasa on LinkedIn, an Italian expert in incorporating sustainable strategies into corporate structures in the region, their collaboration was founded on shared values and a desire to provide climate tech and sustainability solutions for the regional market, according to The National News.
Tripathi’s background in the energy sector and Scopacasa’s expertise in sustainability strategies made them an ideal match to establish Olive Gaea. Motivated by the significant challenge of climate change and having observed the struggles of customers in the energy industry, Tripathi aimed to utilize his experience holistically for a more substantial impact.
