Norhan Ezzat has been appointed Head of Transaction Banking at the UAE-based Bank of Sharjah. In her new role, she will lead the development of the bank’s global transaction banking (GTB) franchise, encompassing cash management, trade finance, supply chain finance, and digital channels.
Ezzat’s responsibilities encompass strategy, product development, advisory services, and client experience, with the goal of positioning the bank competitively in the UAE and across the broader region. She assumed the role in November 2025 and reports to Nasser Salem Al-Ali, the Chief Wholesale Banking Officer.
Extensive regional transaction banking experience
Ezzat joins from Arab African International Bank, where she served as Head of Global Transaction Banking and Business Banking. Her prior experience includes four years at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, where she served as head of structuring and commercialization in global transaction banking, and six years at Standard Chartered in the UAE, holding roles such as associate director in transaction banking and global Islamic products.
Sheikh Ezzat stated, “Having previously built and scaled regional GTB franchises and led major digital transformation programs in transaction banking across the Middle East, I am excited to bring this experience to Bank of Sharjah. This role presents a strong platform to shape a modern GTB business; one that delivers meaningful client impact, strengthens our digital capabilities and drives sustainable fee growth for the bank. I look forward to laying the foundations for a differentiated GTB offering and contributing to Bank of Sharjah’s ambition to become a leading player in the region.”
