Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that the Indian government is continuing its commitment to food security by implementing a scheme to provide free food grains to all Antyodaya and priority households for one year under the PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana, starting January 1, 2023.
The minister highlighted the government’s progress in achieving sustainable goals, as well as milestones in various other initiatives, such as Swachh Bharat, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer, and Jan Dhan accounts.
These efforts demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens, particularly those who are economically disadvantaged. The provision of free food grains to Antyodaya and priority households is a significant step towards addressing food insecurity in India and ensuring that all citizens have access to the resources they need to thrive.
