Miral, the developer behind some of Abu Dhabi’s most immersive destinations, has revealed that the newest expansion of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi on Yas Island is set to welcome visitors from April 4.
This latest addition continues the waterpark’s Lost City theme, building further on its storyline, The Legend of The Lost Pearl. The expansion will feature eight brand-new slides, two jump platforms, and a dedicated lounging pool.
These new attractions will significantly elevate the park’s offerings, pushing the total number of experiences available on-site to over 70.
Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, highlighted that the expansion represents a key step in enhancing Yas Island’s entertainment appeal. He noted that the introduction of eleven new rides and attractions brings a mix of excitement and immersive experiences tailored for visitors of all ages.
Among the key highlights is Matamir’s Drop, the tallest waterslide in the UAE, featuring a dramatic plunge from heights exceeding 40 metres and a 233-metre ride that delivers an intense freefall experience. Another attraction, Sahel Matamir, is a high-speed tube racer that propels riders through bursts of acceleration and moments of near weightlessness.
Thrill-seekers can also take on Matamir Loop, a fast-paced body slide designed for steep descents, while Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights combines rapid drops with dynamic lighting effects for a more immersive ride. For those who enjoy a competitive edge, Matamir Splash introduces a side-by-side racing slide where guests can challenge each other to the finish.
Beyond the adrenaline rides, the expansion also focuses on relaxation and family-friendly experiences. Sarab offers a spacious pool area designed for leisure and unwinding, while Al Afda gives visitors the chance to jump from a platform straight into the water below.
