NEOM has announced a partnership with Asas Al Mohileb to establish and operate a SR 700M ($186M) ready-mix concrete facility in Saudi Arabia. This multi-plant factory will primarily supply concrete for the construction of THE LINE, a linear city currently under development in NEOM.
Asas Al Mohileb, a prominent Saudi Arabian construction and engineering firm, is responsible for building the batching plant complex in NEOM. Leveraging their industry expertise, the company will operate the facility, which has a capacity to produce over 20,000 cubic metres of ready-mix green concrete daily.
Nadhmi Al Nasr, CEO of NEOM, emphasised that the establishment of these concrete plants reflects the rapid progress at NEOM and highlights the strength of the Kingdom’s construction sector. He noted the vital role local partnerships play in delivering this transformative project efficiently and sustainably.
Sulaiman Al Mohileb, CEO of Al Mohileb, stated that this partnership demonstrates their commitment to advancing economic growth in the Kingdom through innovative construction solutions. He highlighted their dedication to sustainable practices that align with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to empower the manufacturing sector.
The factory will incorporate carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) technology and energy-saving solutions, with most output directed towards THE LINE’s construction. Concrete is essential for both the substructure and superstructure of THE LINE.
The new factory is preparing to commence operations next month, having mobilised support vehicles.
