Nasdaq Dubai has listed two sukuk tranches issued by the Government of Indonesia, with a total value of $3.25bn. The two tranches comprise $1.75bn five-year Trust Certificates with a 4.4 percent yield and $1.5bn 10-year Trust Certificates with a 4.7 percent yield. The new listings have raised the total value of sukuk listed by the government on the financial exchange to $22 billion.
Last year, Nasdaq Dubai had listed three sukuk tranches issued by the Indonesian government, with a total value of $3bn. The statement concluded that Dubai has emerged as one of the largest sukuk listing centers globally, with a total listed value of 297 billion dirhams.
Nasdaq Dubai is the international financial exchange serving the region between Western Europe and East Asia. It welcomes regional as well as global issuers that seek regional and international investment. The exchange currently lists shares, derivatives, sukuk (Islamic bonds), conventional bonds, and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). The majority shareholder of Nasdaq Dubai is Dubai Financial Market with a two-thirds stake. Borse Dubai owns one-third of the shares. The regulator of Nasdaq Dubai is the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Nasdaq Dubai is located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
The Indonesian government is the largest sukuk issuer on Nasdaq Dubai by both value and number of listings, with securities now totaling 14.5 billion US dollars from 10 issuances. The total value of all Sukuk listed on Dubai’s exchanges has now reached 56.47 billion US dollars, the largest amount of any listing center in the world. The collaboration underlines the close relations between the UAE and Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim country, as well as Dubai’s growth as the global capital of the Islamic Economy.
Emirates and Airlink have officially activated a codeshare agreement, which will provide customers with a single booking reference across eight domestic South African cities.
