The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with e& money, the fintech subsidiary of e&, to offer wage protection services for domestic workers via the e& money platform.
This collaboration integrates MoHRE’s Wage Protection System (WPS) into the app, allowing employers to manage domestic workers’ salary payments in line with UAE laws and regulatory standards.
Dalal Alshehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Protection at MoHRE, stated: “This partnership demonstrates MoHRE’s ongoing dedication to protecting workers’ rights. By extending our wage protection services through e& money in its initial phase, we are bringing the WPS to domestic workers in accordance with current regulations. This ensures wider, more inclusive access to regulated and secure financial services, guaranteeing timely salary disbursements. Employers can now process domestic workers’ salaries with just a few simple steps.”
Melike Kara, CEO of e& money, commented: “At e& money, we aim to develop financial solutions that genuinely improve people’s lives, enhance financial well-being, and promote inclusive economic growth. Our partnership with MoHRE focuses on innovating financial accessibility to empower workers, support businesses, and build trust across the financial ecosystem. By integrating the Ministry’s WPS into the e& money platform, we are making salary management more efficient and inclusive, ensuring secure, seamless financial services that improve quality of life for all.”
The initiative represents the first extension of the WPS to domestic workers. Employers using the e& money app can register via MoHRE’s dedicated section, where worker information and salaries are automatically displayed, enabling quick and accurate payments.
