The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Abu Dhabi Customs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a unified framework for data exchange and activate digital integration between the two organisations.
The agreement focuses on delivering high-quality services, strengthening cooperation, and supporting the broader strategic objectives of both Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
Signed at MoFA’s Abu Dhabi headquarters, the MoU was formalised by Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Under-Secretary of MoFA, and Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Customs.
The MoU aims to create a secure digital system for seamless electronic data sharing, ensuring strong governance, data protection, and smart service delivery tailored to stakeholder needs.
Alshamsi highlighted that the partnership with Abu Dhabi Customs supports digital transformation efforts and contributes to the objectives of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
He added that MoFA is leveraging AI and advanced technologies to build a proactive digital ecosystem that enhances service efficiency and reduces procedural complexity.
