Retirees from federal entities, other emirate governments, or the private sector registered in Sharjah are now eligible to receive a supplementary grant. According to a statement by the local news agency WAM, this financial support is available to individuals whose pension is below AED 17,500 per month. The decree was issued by Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The supplementary grant will ensure that retirees’ monthly income is raised to AED17,500, provided they do not receive any other salary, bonus, or pension exceeding this amount. Payments will begin once the application is submitted.
Additionally, the decree has established the “Supplementary Grant Committee for Retirees” in Sharjah, which will be supervised by the Department of Human Resources.
The Department of Human Resources will manage the application process, including reviewing applications and verifying eligibility. It will also update beneficiary data annually and maintain regular audits of eligible retirees. Meanwhile, the Sharjah Social Security Fund will oversee the monthly disbursement of the supplementary grant. The committee will define the necessary documentation and procedures for the application process.
