Kuwait’s Cabinet has officially announced public holidays from Thursday, 5 June, to Sunday, 8 June 2025, in honour of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha.
These holidays will be followed by a day off on Monday, 9 June, with work set to resume on Tuesday, 10 June.
Eid Al Adha, a major celebration in the Islamic calendar, is anticipated to occur on Friday, 6 June 2025, based on astronomical predictions provided by the Emirates Astronomy Society.
The new crescent moon, signifying the start of Dhu Al Hijjah—the twelfth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar—is expected to be visible on 27 May, which would make 28 May the first day of the month.
If the forecast proves accurate, the Day of Arafah, traditionally observed through fasting and reflection on the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah, would fall on Thursday, 5 June, with Eid Al Adha following on Friday, 6 June.
