Official data released on Tuesday reveals that India’s industrial production increased by 3.8 per cent in January 2024.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP), which measures factory output, demonstrated a growth of 5.8 per cent in January 2023.

According to data from the National Statistical Office (NSO), the manufacturing sector’s output expanded by 3.2 per cent in January 2024, a decrease from 4.5 per cent in the same month last year.
Mining production saw a 5.9 per cent rise in January this year, while power output increased by 5.6 per cent.
Comparing April 2023 to January 2024 with the previous year, the IIP grew by 5.9 per cent, surpassing the 5.5 per cent expansion recorded in the corresponding period, according to The Free Press Journal.
