Healthcare and social services emerged as Dubai’s fastest-growing sector last year, as the emirate’s GDP climbed to AED355 billion (USD 97 billion) in the first nine months of 2025.
Human health and social work activities recorded growth of 15.4 per cent, contributing AED5.3 billion or 1.5 per cent, to GDP between January and September 2025, according to figures released by the Dubai Media Office on Monday.
During the third quarter of 2025, the sector expanded by 8.7 per cent, with value added rising to AED2 billion from AED1.8 billion in the corresponding period of 2024.
Dubai is set to host the World Health Expo, formerly Arab Health, this month, drawing more than 270,000 healthcare professionals and 4,800 exhibitors representing over 180 countries.
Overall, Dubai’s economy grew by 4.7 per cent year on year in the first nine months of 2025, the report noted.
The construction sector posted annual growth of 8.5 per cent, adding AED23.9 billion to GDP over the same period.
Real estate activity increased by 6.7 per cent year on year, accounting for 8.2 per cent, or AED29 billion, of the emirate’s GDP.
