H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, inaugurated the 44th edition of the Big 5 Global, the largest and most influential construction industry event in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
The event at the Dubai World Trade Centre, until 7th December, gathers global construction industry experts, featuring 2,200 exhibitors and expecting 68,000 visitors from 150 countries.
During the event, he stated that Dubai has become a hub for sustainability and innovation due to the various events and exhibitions it hosts annually.
These events attract leading minds and showcase innovations across diverse sectors, including construction, where fourth industrial revolution technologies like AI are employed to build resilient infrastructure crucial for sustainable development.

Sheikh Hamdan Stresses Dubai’s Commitment to Global Building Standards and Sustainable Construction Tech
Highlighting the event’s significance, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized its timing amid the world’s increasing reliance on advanced technologies for designing smart buildings and the industry’s growing focus on implementing environmental standards. He reiterated Dubai’s dedication to advancing the sector and establishing global standards for building design through collaboration with international entities.
Accompanied by prominent figures including Mattar Al Tayer, Helal Saeed Al Marri, Dawood Al Hajri, Mohammed Ali Rashed Lootah, and Omar Hamad Bushahab, Sheikh Hamdan toured pavilions representing various countries, learning about the latest innovations and breakthroughs, particularly in the context of sustainability, aligning with the UAE’s celebration of 2023 as the “Year of Sustainability.”
Sheikh Hamdan praised the event’s substantial growth, featuring 23 international pavilions promoting international trade ties, according to WAM.
The Big 5 Global encompasses the entire spectrum of construction industry activities through eight specialized events, providing a platform for industry professionals to access international building solutions at every construction stage. The unified event is part of Big 5, the world’s largest and most diverse portfolio of construction events.
