In early November, Abu Dhabi will host ADIPEC 2024, where over 40 ministers and 200 senior executives from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas will collaborate on key energy solutions. Organized by ADNOC from 4-7 November, the event will run under the theme, “Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy.” Celebrating 40 years as a global energy platform, ADIPEC 2024 will explore the intersection of energy and artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing technologies that are reshaping the energy sector’s future.
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, President of COP28, and ADNOC Group CEO, will give the keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony. Following the keynote, a high-profile ministerial panel, “The New Global Leaders and the Energy Transition,” will feature energy ministers from the UAE, India, and Egypt discussing how emerging economies are balancing their unique energy needs with environmental and technological advancements.
Chair of ADIPEC 2024 and CEO of ADNOC Offshore, Tayba Al Hashemi, stated, “ADIPEC 2024 will unite global industry and technology leaders to unlock opportunities that can accelerate the energy transition and catalyse innovative solutions to integrate the energy and AI sectors more effectively. I look forward to welcoming industry leaders, experts, and pioneers from across the world at what promises to be a very exciting, solutions-oriented ADIPEC 2024.”
Speakers from across the world, including notable leaders such as Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India; and Haitham Al-Ghais, Secretary-General of OPEC, are set to join. Other representatives from countries including Egypt, Bahrain, Nigeria, Angola, Jordan, Kazakhstan, and Zimbabwe will also address key themes.
With ten strategic and technical conferences, ADIPEC 2024 aims to explore energy transition issues, including Global South energy affordability, low-carbon investments, and AI’s role in decarbonising high-emission sectors. On the first day, the lead CEO panel, “Meeting Escalating Global Energy Demand Whilst Transitioning to a Low Carbon Energy System,” will bring together energy executives like bp CEO Murray Auchincloss, Shell CEO Wael Sawan, and PETRONAS President Tengku Muhammad Taufik.
The session will focus on achieving sustainable energy solutions to support growing demand.
Major international executives, including OMV CEO Alfred Stern, Vitol Group CEO Russell Hardy, and ADNOC Executive Director Musabbeh Al Kaabi, will address transformative energy strategies. Prominent technology firms like Microsoft, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and Accenture will contribute insights on digital energy transformation, while AI leaders such as Boomitra and AIQ will discuss AI applications in reducing carbon output. Logistics firms AD Ports Group and DP World are set to talk about sustainable supply chains, and leading financial institutions like Standard Chartered and Morgan Stanley will cover sustainable investments.
As ADIPEC 2024 draws together a diverse range of voices, the event promises to drive collaborative action to address both the urgent energy transition and economic sustainability.
