Global re/insurance broker Gallagher has selected Daniel Miller to lead its financial lines operations for clients in the Middle East.
Miller will join Gallagher in April from Aon, where he has worked for the last eight years as Regional Head of Financial and Professional Liability (finpro) for the Middle East.
He has 20 years’ experience in financial lines broking, having started his career in the London Market, and since 2010 been based in the Middle East.
Miller brings extensive underwriter and client relationships in the Middle East, and is experienced in sourcing custom solutions for financial lines clients including crime, directors’ and officers’ (D&O), professional indemnity (PI), cyber and bankers’ blanket bonds.
In addition, he has sourced solutions for clients facing syndicated fraud and project finance fraud risks, and designed and placed solutions for highly complex risks including D&O and public offering of securities (POSI).
Going forward, he will report into Julian Samengo-Turner, Executive Chairman for Gallagher in the Middle East and Africa.
“Daniel is one of the standout brokers in financial lines in the Middle East,” said Samengo-Turner. “We see significant growth potential in the region and we are delighted Daniel will be joining Gallagher. He has worked with some of the largest corporations and leading financial businesses in the Middle East, and has extensive experience in helping provide clients with insurance solutions for complex and technical risks.
“This appointment further demonstrates our commitment to ensuring Gallagher and ACE Gallagher clients have access to the very best people available and he will be a fantastic asset to our team.”
Miller added: “Gallagher has gone from strength to strength in recent years and its proposition of investing in technically skilled sector specialists to provide clients with a high level of expertise and knowledge is clearly paying dividends. I am delighted to join the team at such an exciting time.”
