Flynas, a leading Saudi Arabian low-cost airline, is set to launch a series of new direct flights connecting Saudi Arabia with the UAE. Starting in September, these new routes will significantly enhance the airline’s presence in the UAE market, making flynas the largest carrier serving all four major UAE airports from multiple Saudi cities.
The airline’s expansion is part of its broader growth strategy and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030.
Currently, flynas operates flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB) from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah.
However, the new routes will introduce additional destinations, including Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) in Dubai, Shaikh Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah International Airport (SHJ).
On September 1, flynas will launch flights from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) in Dubai. The same day will see new flights from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah to Shaikh Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah International Airport (SHJ). Additionally, a route from Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (MED) in Madinah to Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) will also commence on September 1. Another new route from Madinah to Abu Dhabi’s Shaikh Zayed International Airport (AUH) will be launched on September 2.
This expansion will make flynas the only Saudi airline to serve all four major UAE airports, increasing the frequency of flights between the two countries to more than 20 daily.
In July, flynas signed a significant agreement to purchase 160 new aircraft from Airbus, including 30 wide-body planes. This order increases flynas’s total aircraft purchase orders to 280, positioning it as one of the largest in the region. This acquisition supports the airline’s ambitious growth plans to keep pace with the expanding aviation sector in Saudi Arabia.
Flynas currently connects more than 70 domestic and international destinations with over 1,500 weekly flights. Since its launch in 2007, the airline has flown over 80 million passengers and aims to reach 165 destinations as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives.
