To give residents a preview of the new city before it reopens fully the following month, several attractions at Expo City Dubai are opening their doors as early as September.
The official opening is slated on October 1, but two pavilions – Mobility and Sustainability pavilions – will start accepting visitors from September 1.
Tickets to enter the pavilions are priced at AED50 per person. A new attraction, called Garden in the Sky, will also open on September 1, with tickets costing AED30 per person.
“Terra – a world-class example of sustainable best practice in architecture and design – will encourage visitors to re-evaluate their relationship with the environment through an immersive journey through ocean and forest, while Alif will transport explorers through time and across new horizons to discover how mobility has driven human progress throughout history,” Expo City Dubai said in a statement.
Other attractions within the new city will open in October, including the Al Wasl Plaza and the Surreal water feature.
There will be buggies, as well as electric scooters and bicycles across the city as the main modes of transportation. Expo City Dubai earlier said it will be car-free.
For Expo City Dubai, the world expo’s legacy project, which was completed in March of this year, almost 80% of the infrastructure that was created for the event was kept.
