World Congress of Bioethics

Welcome to the 16th World Congress of Bioethics, Medical Ethics, and Health Law, hosted by the International Chair in Bioethics.

World Congress of Bioethics serves as a premier global platform for robust scientific dialogue encompassing over 70 topics in bioethics, medical ethics, and health law. It offers participants the opportunity to engage in fruitful exchanges while forging professional and personal connections with leaders in the field.

Excitingly, the Chair has recently expanded, boasting nearly 300 centres (“Units”) across universities and healthcare institutions spanning five continents. With approximately 3,000 volunteers driving its mission on Steering Committees, and over 1,200 educators from fifty countries comprising the International Forum of Teachers (IFT), our reach and impact continue to grow.

Committed to advancing knowledge and fostering dialogue, the Chair operates 29 departments, a bulletin, a journal, a website, and an international committee dedicated to the annual celebration of World Bioethics Day. We produce educational materials for teachers and students alike and regularly host local, national, and international seminars and conferences.

Furthermore, as a Cooperating Centre of the World Medical Association (WMA) and through fruitful collaboration with the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), the Chair actively contributes to shaping global healthcare ethics standards.
