Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has published its latest traffic figures for May 2025, showcasing steady growth and sustained passenger demand.
The airline transported 1.7 million passengers during May, marking a 19% rise compared to the same month in 2024. This upward trend illustrates Etihad’s effective growth strategy and strong market presence. The passenger load factor increased to 87%, up from 84% in May last year, demonstrating the airline’s ability to efficiently manage capacity while catering to robust demand.
Etihad’s operational fleet has now reached 100 aircraft, bolstering its expanding route network and upgraded services. Between January and May 2025, the airline carried 8.4 million passengers—a 17% increase from the same period in 2024—while maintaining an impressive average load factor of 87%.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, stated: “We are pleased with the ongoing momentum, as May saw a 19% year-on-year rise in passenger numbers, affirming our position as the fastest-growing airline in the Middle East. So far this year, over 8 million passengers have travelled with us, and our 12-month rolling total now approaches 20 million, reflecting the confidence placed in Etihad’s offerings.
