Etihad Rail, responsible for developing and operating the UAE’s national railway network, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC). The agreement is intended to strengthen strategic alignment, support effective planning, and ensure coordinated execution of infrastructure works, thereby contributing to Abu Dhabi’s wider developmental goals.
The partnership will centre on various key areas, including the exchange of expertise in studies, design frameworks, engineering plans, and developmental strategies related to Etihad Rail’s ongoing and future projects.
According to a statement from Etihad Rail, both entities will collaborate to identify potential opportunities for integrating infrastructure initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with Abu Dhabi’s five-year capital project roadmap.
Furthermore, the MoU aims to encourage private sector participation and stimulate investment around Etihad Rail’s stations and assets. It also promotes collaborative research and innovation in crucial areas such as urban planning, infrastructure development, and project management to deliver advanced and effective solutions.
In addition, the agreement outlines plans to enhance skill development by establishing joint training initiatives, hosting annual knowledge exchange sessions, and encouraging involvement in pertinent events, conferences, and forums, the statement added.
