Etihad Airways and Tunisair have signed a new codeshare agreement aimed at enhancing air connectivity between Abu Dhabi and North Africa, supporting rising demand for travel, tourism and business ties between the two regions.
Both airlines confirmed that passengers can now book flights between Abu Dhabi and Tunis using either carrier’s flight code on services operated by Etihad Airways.
The partnership is designed to offer a seamless travel experience, allowing customers to travel on a single ticket, complete one check-in process and benefit from automatic baggage transfer to their final destination.
The agreement applies to Etihad’s three weekly flights on the Abu Dhabi–Tunis route, which launched on 1 November 2025. These services are operated using Etihad’s Airbus A321LR aircraft, featuring the airline’s hospitality offering across First, Business and Economy cabins.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said the partnership brings Abu Dhabi closer to travellers across North Africa, where interest in the emirate continues to grow for business, tourism and family travel. He added that the codeshare gives Tunisair customers easier access to Etihad’s service and network.
Tunisair CEO Halima Ibrahim Khouaja said the collaboration creates new travel opportunities by linking the Maghreb and African markets with the Gulf. She noted that Abu Dhabi is a strategic destination for Tunisair and that the agreement expands connectivity across the airline’s network while strengthening regional air links.
With more than 75 years of experience, Tunisair has built a strong presence in Tunisia and operates services to key destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America.
Etihad Airways currently maintains more than 40 codeshare partnerships worldwide, connecting passengers to over 500 destinations and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global aviation hub.
