Etihad Airways has partnered with Burjeel Holdings to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global medical tourism hub. This collaboration will enhance healthcare access for international patients and expand medical services for Etihad employees and their families.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Muntaser Husein, Director of Health and Wellbeing at Etihad Airways, and Dr. Mohammad Qaddoura, COO of Abu Dhabi Emirate and Oman at Burjeel Holdings. Senior executives from both organizations were also present.
Expanding Healthcare Access and Employee Wellbeing
By combining Burjeel’s medical expertise with Etihad’s global reach, this partnership aims to streamline healthcare services. International travelers seeking specialized treatment in Abu Dhabi will benefit from direct case management and improved access to clinicians.
Additionally, Burjeel Holdings will ensure Etihad employees and their families receive comprehensive healthcare. They will have seamless access to Burjeel’s hospitals and medical centers across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.
To further support employee well-being, Burjeel will introduce health awareness programs and wellness lectures. The agreement also provides Etihad employees with priority access to medical services, ensuring faster and more efficient care.
“This collaboration enables us to offer world-class healthcare to our employees and their families while supporting Abu Dhabi’s medical tourism ambitions,” said Dr. Muntaser Husein.
Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Role in Medical Tourism
Dr. Mohammad Qaddoura highlighted the partnership’s significance. “By integrating Burjeel Holdings’ expertise with Etihad’s global network, we are enhancing medical access and delivering high-quality treatment. This partnership reinforces Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a leading destination for medical tourism,” he stated.
This agreement aligns with Burjeel Holdings’ ongoing efforts to expand healthcare accessibility. Last year, the group launched the 24/7 Burjeel Airport Clinic at Zayed International Airport. This facility provides round-the-clock medical support to travelers, airport staff, and international patients needing specialized care.
Through this collaboration, Abu Dhabi continues to cement its status as a premier global hub for medical tourism, offering cutting-edge healthcare services to residents and visitors alike.
