Etihad Airways and Egyptair have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to bolster their commercial and operational connections, aiming to offer travellers expanded options, improved services, and added value.
Notably, Antonoaldo Neves, the CEO of Etihad Airways, remarked, “This agreement will deepen our codeshare with EGYPTAIR, facilitating seamless travel for passengers of both carriers throughout our routes. It also sets the groundwork for collaboration within our frequent flyer programmes and allows us to explore joint marketing initiatives to engage and reward our clientele.”
Yehia Zakaria, the Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR, expressed, “This MoU fortifies our strategic alliance with Etihad Airways, reaffirming our dedication to delivering a smooth travel experience and broader network access for our esteemed customers.”
Moreover, the current codeshare arrangement enhances connectivity for patrons of both airlines to various destinations within each other’s networks, spanning from Egypt to the UAE and extending from Cairo into Africa, as well as from Abu Dhabi into Asia. Passengers can book their entire journey on a single ticket and have their luggage seamlessly checked through to their final destination.
Conclusively, under this MoU, codeshares between the two carriers will be expanded, granting EGYPTAIR travellers one-stop access to more destinations within Etihad’s network, including several locations in Asia and Australia that are already part of the agreement.
