The Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient urban development in the UAE. The collaboration will focus on training, support mechanisms, and knowledge-sharing platforms to enhance the built environment and drive green project implementation.
This partnership leverages insights from the public and private sectors to address urban sustainability challenges and accelerate the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 ambitions. EmiratesGBC and GGGI will combine expertise and networks to develop innovative solutions for green buildings, sustainable infrastructure, and climate-resilient cities.
Khaled Bushnaq, EmiratesGBC Chairman, and Mahamadou Tounkara, GGGI’s Middle East and North Africa Director, signed the MoU in the presence of key officials, including representatives from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE).
Khaled Bushnaq highlighted the partnership as a key step in achieving the UAE’s net-zero goals, stating that it will fast-track green building practices. Mahamadou Tounkara praised the UAE’s leadership in sustainability, expressing GGGI’s commitment to empowering stakeholders and driving sustainable development.
