Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) has launched ENEC Consulting, a strategic advisory subsidiary aimed at supporting the global expansion of civil nuclear energy programmes and infrastructure. This move follows ENEC’s rebranding efforts and its ambition to become a global leader in nuclear energy solutions. The new subsidiary will leverage over 15 years of experience, particularly from the successful delivery of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Programme and the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, which achieved full-fleet operations in September 2024.
ENEC Consulting will provide expertise across the entire lifecycle of nuclear energy projects, from strategic advice and project management to operational readiness and capacity building. The subsidiary’s services will draw on the UAE’s experience in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable nuclear power, aiming to assist other nations in developing robust nuclear energy ecosystems.
Mohamed Al Hammadi, managing director and CEO of ENEC, highlighted the increasing importance of nuclear energy, particularly as demand for clean electricity grows in energy-intensive sectors. He noted the UAE’s success in decarbonising its grid, with 75% of the clean electricity generated coming from the Barakah plant. The consulting firm will also help countries integrate nuclear energy into their clean energy strategies.
ENEC Consulting will offer services such as project management, regulatory frameworks, financing models, and workforce development. Mohamed Al Braiki, general manager of the subsidiary, stressed its mission to support countries as they scale nuclear energy capacity, helping to accelerate the global transition to cleaner energy solutions. The firm’s focus aligns with the UAE’s commitment to tripling global nuclear capacity by 2050 to achieve Net Zero emissions.
