Emirates NBD has finalized an aircraft finance lease facility with Indian carrier IndiGo, enabling the airline to acquire two Airbus A321neo aircraft. This agreement underscores the strengthening financial and aviation partnership between the UAE and India.
The financing aligns with IndiGo’s strategy to expand both its domestic routes and international operations. As India’s largest airline, IndiGo continues to enhance connectivity and service efficiency across key regional and global markets.
Expanding IndiGo’s Growing Fleet
With an orderbook exceeding 900 aircraft — including the A320neo, A321neo, and A321XLR — IndiGo is focused on meeting the growing demand for air travel in India and abroad. The addition of two A321neo aircraft supports this goal by increasing capacity and fuel efficiency, while helping the airline maintain its operational leadership.
Supporting India’s Aviation Growth
The UAE-based lender stated that the finance lease facility reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting the expansion of India’s aviation sector. By facilitating fleet growth for one of Asia’s fastest-growing airlines, the bank continues to strengthen its role in promoting trade and investment between the two nations.
