Dubai’s leading airline, Emirates, has extended the suspension of flights to Baghdad, Iraq, and Beirut, Lebanon, until January 31, 2025.
Emirates confirmed on its website that passengers transiting through Dubai with Baghdad as their final destination will not be permitted to board at their departure point until further notice.
However, flights operated by flydubai to Baghdad are continuing as usual. “Customers with confirmed bookings on flydubai (FZ) to Baghdad will be allowed to travel,” the airline stated. It has also encouraged passengers to regularly check the status of flydubai flights.
Additionally, Emirates flights to and from Beirut will remain suspended until at least January 31, 2025. The airline noted that passengers transiting through Dubai with Beirut as their final destination will not be permitted to board at their point of departure.
“Passengers affected by flight cancellations should contact their travel agents for alternative arrangements or reach out to us if they booked directly with Emirates,” the airline advised.
Emirates paused flights to Lebanon and Iraq due to rising security concerns in the region amid the Israel-Gaza conflict. Other airlines have also suspended services to Lebanon and Iraq due to the growing tensions in the Middle East.
Europe’s Lufthansa Group has extended its suspension of flights to Beirut until February 28, 2025, and to Tehran until January 31, 2025, affecting its airlines, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings.
