EDGE Group and Istanbul-headquartered technology company Pavo Group have officially launched KEY4, a landmark joint venture aimed at advancing critical defence and security technologies. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, KEY4 will support UAE’s strategic objectives while also serving broader global defence markets through collaborative innovation.
Strengthening Sovereign Defence Capabilities
The joint venture was announced during the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul. It was formalised by Omar Al Zaabi, President of Trading and Mission Support at EDGE Group, and Ali Özer, Chief Strategy Officer at Pavo Group.
Al Zaabi commented, “KEY4 represents a strategic extension of EDGE’s capability to deliver mission-critical, sovereign defence and security solutions in collaboration with trusted international partners. This joint venture reflects our commitment to deepening industrial capabilities, accelerating technology development, and transferring specialised expertise into operational advantage.”
He added that KEY4 will address evolving client needs across multiple sectors such as cybersecurity, electronic warfare, artificial intelligence (AI), and secure communications systems, thereby bolstering the UAE’s defence posture and global contributions.
Merging Innovation with Engineering Excellence

KEY4 aims to integrate the sovereign strengths of EDGE with the technical expertise of Pavo Group. The venture will cover critical domains such as cryptography, secure communications, AI and machine learning for defence, big data analytics, CBRN solutions, and electronic warfare systems. In addition, the scope includes interception systems, command and control, avionics, aerospace engineering, and smart surveillance systems.
Future-Ready Collaboration for Global Security
Designed to serve both UAE national interests and international defence partnerships, KEY4 will develop operational solutions that tackle complex modern security threats. Furthermore, the venture will explore integrated platforms in border security, system prototyping, and data centre infrastructure, enabling both partners to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving global defence landscape.
By combining the strategic foresight of EDGE with Pavo Group’s established technology acumen, KEY4 positions itself as a key driver of sovereign innovation and international security collaboration.
