Empowering Emiratis with practical work experience
Global technology group e& has introduced “Nukhbat Al Wattan”, a six-month programme aimed at equipping UAE nationals with valuable skills and practical work experience while they await mandatory national service. This initiative bridges the gap between education and military service, providing participants with opportunities to gain real-world exposure and earn remuneration equivalent to the military service allowance.
Programme Highlights
- Target Group: Recent high school graduates who are UAE male nationals awaiting their mandatory military service.
- Duration: Six months.
- Compensation: Participants receive monthly remuneration equal to the national service allowance.
- Focus Areas: Skill development, work readiness, and practical training.
Ali Al Mansoori, Chief Group People Officer at e&, highlighted the programme’s significance:
“Through Nukhbat Al Wattan, we honour and support the dedication of young Emiratis preparing to serve their country, providing them with valuable experiences and essential skills during this crucial stage of their lives.”
Aligning with National Goals
The programme aligns with the UAE’s mandatory national service requirements for male citizens aged 18 to 30. It reflects the nation’s commitment to fostering a generation of skilled and empowered individuals ready to contribute to both their careers and national responsibilities.
Additionally, while military service remains optional for Emirati women, this programme underscores e&’s broader mission to nurture talent and support the aspirations of UAE youth.
