Flying taxi commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, utilizing high-tech transport, are anticipated to connect landmarks such as Atlantis The Palm and Marina Mall next year, as indicated by aviation experts.
Archer Aviation has disclosed Falcon Aviation, based in the UAE, as its partner for vertiport infrastructure, crucially located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
This partnership represents a significant stride towards introducing Archer’s Midnight flying car, in collaboration with Falcon Aviation, in the UAE and throughout the MENA region by 2025.
Archer and Falcon Aviation will initially focus on establishing cutting-edge vertiport infrastructure at Falcon Heliport at Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai, and the Marina Mall heliport in Abu Dhabi’s Corniche.
Traveling between the two cities during peak traffic congestion can exceed two hours.
Archer and Falcon Aviation aim to provide passenger service using Archer’s Midnight flying car between these designated Falcon vertiports, primarily traversing over water, affording panoramic views of both cities, and boasting a mere 30-minute flight duration from departure to arrival.
Archer asserts itself as the pioneer in introducing a flying car service between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, one of the world’s most prominent and congested commuter routes.
Adam Goldstein, the founder and CEO of Archer, remarked, “Establishing partnerships with reputable operators like Falcon Aviation, along with the support of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, has been instrumental in swiftly establishing our presence in the region.”
He added, “We anticipate laying the groundwork for the introduction of our Midnight aircraft, setting the stage for the UAE to emerge as a global leader in urban air mobility.”
Captain Ramandeep Oberoi, CEO of Falcon Aviation, commented, “For nearly two decades, Falcon Aviation has led the way in helicopter passenger transport in the UAE.”
He continued, “Our collaboration with Archer marks a leap into the future as we prepare to jointly offer flying car services in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, continuing our legacy of providing top-tier transportation solutions.”
Falcon Aviation also recently announced the inauguration of its modernized Heliport Terminal on March 8, extending its footprint at Atlantis, the Palm, according to Arabian Business.
The companies showcased their vision for the future vertiport and service, transforming it into a pivotal hub for Midnight flights, facilitating urban air mobility in the region.
This announcement reinforces the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed last year, in which Falcon Aviation committed to operating numerous Archer Midnight flying cars.
This collaboration is part of Archer’s strategic expansion plans, with the UAE poised to become its inaugural international launch market as early as next year.
Archer’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nikhil Goel, stated, “We have made significant strides in the UAE since announcing Abu Dhabi and Dubai as the locations for our first international Midnight flights by 2025.”
He added, “We take pride in being the first to unveil plans for operations between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, along with vertiport infrastructure at both ends of the commuter route.”
Archer aims to revolutionize urban transportation by replacing 60 to 90-minute car commutes with estimated 10 to 30-minute electric air taxi flights that are safe, sustainable, low-noise, and competitively priced compared to ground transportation.
