Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a new 10-year naming rights agreement, under which the UAE Exchange Metro Station will be renamed Life Pharmacy Metro Station. This move aligns with RTA’s long-standing strategy to enhance public-private cooperation and promote brand visibility through Dubai’s transport network.
The agreement was signed by Life Pharmacy Group and Hypermedia, with Mada Media attending as RTA’s authorised concessionaire. This collaboration marks another successful milestone in Dubai’s Metro Naming Rights initiative, which began in 2009 as the first of its kind globally.
Enhancing Visibility Through Strategic Partnerships
Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of RTA’s Rail Agency, praised the partnership and its broader impact. He stated, “This agreement represents more than a name change—it’s a continuation of our vision to empower the private sector in supporting Dubai’s economic growth.”
He added that such partnerships allow the transfer of expertise, creation of employment opportunities, and alignment with national development goals. Notably, the initiative has consistently delivered commercial and societal value over the years.
Life Pharmacy Strengthens Its Urban Presence
According to Mohamad Al Hammadi, CEO of Mada Media, the renaming creates an impactful branding opportunity. “Our goal is to convert transportation spaces into platforms that offer strategic visibility,” he explained. “This initiative provides Life Pharmacy a valuable chance to connect with millions of daily commuters.”
Abdul Rahuman Abdul Nazzar, Chairman and Managing Director of Life Pharmacy Group, echoed this sentiment. He noted, “This partnership is a strategic move that reflects our deep-rooted presence in the city. Associating our name with a metro station strengthens our community bond and shows how integral Life Pharmacy is to daily life in Dubai.”
He further added that the chosen station plays a key role in connecting communities and serves as a landmark for thousands of residents and visitors alike.
Implementation Timeline and Broader Impact
Starting this month and running through the end of August 2025, RTA will update all relevant internal and external signage. These changes will appear on directional signs, smart digital systems, mobile transport apps, and onboard metro announcements.
Moreover, the renaming reinforces Life Pharmacy’s role in supporting urban infrastructure while aligning its identity with Dubai’s commitment to smart mobility and innovation.
