Dubai International Airport (DXB) set a new record in 2024, welcoming 92.3 million passengers—the highest in its history.
This surpasses the previous peak of 89.1 million in 2018 and marks a decade of DXB leading Airports Council International’s (ACI) list of the busiest international airports.
December was the busiest month, with 8.2 million travellers passing through DXB.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called DXB a global success, reflecting the UAE’s ability to realise bold ambitions. He attributed the milestone to continuous innovation and excellence shaping the nation’s progress.
He highlighted Dubai’s investment in expanding aviation infrastructure, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33’s goal of becoming a top-five global logistics hub and doubling foreign trade by expanding connections to 400 new cities.
Sheikh Mohammed reiterated Dubai’s commitment to strengthening global connectivity, fostering trade and cultural ties, and driving innovation.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, stated that 2024’s traffic exceeded forecasts by nearly 200,000 passengers, reinforcing DXB’s global appeal. He expressed confidence in surpassing 100 million annual passengers by 2027, supported by a USD 35B expansion of Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) to redefine travel.
Serving 272 destinations across 107 countries with 106 airlines, DXB remains one of the world’s most connected airports.
