Dubai has launched the Shared Digital Channels Initiative in collaboration with various government entities, establishing a unified, user-oriented digital government model. The initiative seeks to simplify access to services for residents, businesses, and visitors through integrated platforms. Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, attended the launch event, as reported by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).
This follows approval of the initiative by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, in February 2025.
The initiative will offer government services through seven dedicated platforms, which will include Dubai Now for individuals, Invest in Dubai for businesses, Visit Dubai for tourism, and four sector-specific platforms addressing transportation, justice, construction, and trade. Digital Dubai is leading this initiative as part of its role in overseeing the Shared Digital Channels.
This initiative is a key element of Dubai’s strategy to digitalise services and enhance the city’s position among the world’s top three cities in digital service delivery.
“The ‘Shared Digital Channels’ initiative, approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed earlier this year, demonstrates Dubai Government’s commitment to providing a seamless, integrated digital experience via dedicated, 24/7 platforms—strengthening the emirate’s status as a global hub for technology and innovation, both in terms of serving people and attracting high-quality investments,” said Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai.
“Digital channels have become the primary method by which customers access a broad range of government services and process their transactions. This underscores the critical need for shared digital platforms and greater integration across government entities. Customers are increasingly viewing the government as a single, connected entity capable of meeting their needs through one or a few unified platforms, eliminating the need to navigate multiple channels and service windows,” added Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
