The appeal of Dubai Summer Destinations as a summer getaway continues to surge, placing the emirate among the top three favored destinations for US travelers.
In a recent survey conducted by Trivago, a renowned global hotel and accommodation search platform based in Germany, Dubai secured the third spot as a preferred summer vacation spot for Americans, following Honolulu and Tokyo.
It revealed that more US travellers are opting to visit Dubai during the summer season compared to other popular destinations like Istanbul, Lahaina (US), Antalya, Palm Beach (Aruba), Hong Kong, Belek (Turkiye), and Paradise Island City (Bahamas).
Dubai’s travel and tourism industry has shown a robust recovery following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and has almost regained its pre-pandemic level.
According to the latest data from Dubai Economy and Tourism, the number of international visitors from January to April 2023 reached 6.02 million, surpassing the 5.10 million recorded during the same period last year and coming close to 6.26 million in 2019.
The data also revealed that approximately 7% of international visitors during the first four months of the year were Americans, illustrating the diverse range of tourists exploring the emirate.
Trivago’s survey indicated that lodging prices in Dubai have experienced a 23.6% increase over the past two years. However, this price surge does not seem to deter US travelers, as the majority, 77%, expressed their intent to dip into their savings to finance their travels this year.
“Despite a looming recession and the rising cost of goods, US consumers are still planning to travel this year,” it said.
