Dubai has recently initiated a digital transformation strategy with the aim of advancing the city’s quality of life and business environment through innovative technologies. The strategy has set an ambitious target of generating AED100B ($27.2B) in the sector, positioning Dubai as the world’s leading digital capital.
The Digital Strategy of Dubai envisions a comprehensive digitalization of all aspects of life in the city, establishing a reliable and robust digital infrastructure that will strengthen the digital economy and empower a society driven by digital advancements.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, officially launched the Digital Strategy, ushering in a new era of digital transformation aligned with the leadership’s vision to make Dubai a global exemplar in the field.
During his visit to the headquarters of Digital Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan participated in the launch event, where he received updates on the progress of various initiatives, observed the preparatory work conducted by different teams for future stages of Dubai’s Digital Strategy, and witnessed the development of collaborative projects by Digital Dubai in partnership with government entities.
Dubai’s Seven Pillars Digital Strategy
Seven key pillars drive Dubai’s innovative Digital Strategy, forming the foundation of its vision for a digitally advanced city. These pillars encompass the digital city, digital economy, data and statistics, digital talent, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital competitiveness. With ambitious goals in mind, the Strategy aims to enhance the digital economy’s outputs, improve Digital well-being by 90%, secure top rankings in the United Nations’ Local Online Service Index, and introduce 50 transformative digital city experiences. Additionally, the Strategy seeks to empower over 50,000 professionals with advanced digital qualifications, solidifying Dubai’s position as a global digital leader.
