Public transport and shared mobility services in Dubai recorded a 7.4 per cent increase in ridership in 2025, reaching 802.1 million journeys over the year, compared with 747.1 million trips in 2024.
Average daily ridership rose to approximately 2.2 million passengers, up from around 2 million per day the previous year. Premium limousine services, which are accounted for separately, transported 23.6 million passengers during 2025, reflecting continued demand for diverse mobility options.
According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the steady growth in passenger numbers underscores the effectiveness of sustained investment in infrastructure, improved connectivity between transport modes, and the integration of advanced technologies to enhance commuter experience.
The authority is continuing to expand dedicated lanes for buses and taxis and is assessing innovative mobility solutions, including trackless electric tram systems, as part of broader efforts to strengthen network efficiency and support long-term sustainable urban development.
