Dubai Investments Park (DIP) Angola has announced the signing of a crucial contract with China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC) for Phase 1A Infrastructure Development. CHEC, a prominent international civil engineering firm in Angola, will oversee various infrastructure projects aimed at establishing DIP Angola as a unique 2,000-hectare integrated mixed-use hub in Africa.
CHEC will act as the primary contractor for Phase 1A infrastructure works, encompassing roadworks, storm sewer systems, water systems, and electrical systems, with a project duration of 10 months, according to WAM.
Omar Al Mesmar, General Manager of Dubai Investments Park, highlighted the significance of Phase 1A infrastructure works in laying the groundwork for DIP Angola’s success. By providing essential infrastructure, such as road networks and utilities, DIP Angola aims to stimulate economic activity, job creation, and revenue generation, demonstrating a commitment to quality and long-term success.
Properly planned roadworks and storm sewer systems by DIP Angola will not only ensure smooth traffic flow but also mitigate flooding risks, enhancing overall area livability. Adequate water and electrical systems are essential for residential, commercial, and industrial activities, ensuring reliable access to utilities for residents and businesses alike.
Xiaoying Hao, General Manager of China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd’s Southern Africa Division, expressed honour in being selected as the main contractor for Phase 1A infrastructure works. Leveraging expertise and resources, CHEC aims to contribute to Angola’s infrastructure landscape, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure aligned with DIP Angola’s needs.
