Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan has announced the construction of the city’s first flying taxi vertiport, with services expected to launch in 2026. The facility, spanning 3,100 sq meters, will be strategically located near Dubai International Airport.
“Dubai continues to shape the future of global mobility with its steadfast commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability,” Sheikh Hamdan stated on X (formerly Twitter).
The initial phase will feature vertiport stations in key areas, including Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah. Designed to offer a futuristic and efficient transport system, the air taxis will accommodate a pilot and four passengers, reaching speeds of 320 km/h. The service will link major destinations, enabling swift commutes, such as traveling from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah in 10-12 minutes.
The project aims to revolutionise urban mobility while enhancing connections between the airport, hotels, and other key points in the city. It reflects Dubai’s commitment to innovative and sustainable transportation solutions.
