Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has finished traffic enhancement works on three key streets in Al Mankhool. This initiative, which involves alterations at the intersections of Kuwait Street, 12A Street, and 10C Street, is part of RTA’s ongoing endeavours to upgrade the road infrastructure throughout Dubai.
These enhancements aim to support the city’s thriving economic activities and accommodate its increasing population while preserving Dubai’s status as a leading business centre and improving the quality of life.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, stated: “The Al Mankhool area is infamous for its heavy traffic. RTA has implemented several improvements, including reducing the right-in and right-out lanes from two to one at the junction of Kuwait Street and 10C Street and adding a U-turn movement on 10C Street to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents.”
Al Banna explained that the project also includes relocating the U-turn on Kuwait Street to extend the storage lane.
He said: “This adjustment will improve traffic flow and reduce delays by 30 per cent at the junction of Kuwait Street and 12A Street. It will decrease queueing and waiting times for vehicles.”
“Additionally, the removal of the overlapping traffic movement from 10C Street to 12A Street will enhance safety on Kuwait Street.”
“These improvements will contribute to smoother traffic flow and easier movement throughout Al Mankhool and its surrounding areas, benefiting approximately 130,000 residents and school-goers.”
“Al Mankhool is a crucial commercial area, hosting numerous service companies in the hotels and hospitality sector, hospitals, and various retail and wholesale outlets.”
