Over 27,100 companies joined as new members in the first eight months of 2022, according to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers.
This represents a 69% year-over-year (y-o-y) increase and brings the overall membership to over 314,000. The exports and reexports of members reached AED177 billion between January and August 2022, up more than 20% year over year. In comparison to the same period the previous year, the chamber granted more than 476,000 Certificates of Origin, a 9.8% increase. In the meantime, the chamber completed almost 642,000 electronic transactions, an increase of 12.7%.
Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, commented on the most recent numbers and said that the growth shows the good effects of Dubai Chambers’ specialized approach to helping member companies with worldwide expansion and enhancing the ease of doing business in Dubai. He claimed that by making these efforts, Dubai Chambers was better able to assist the business community and find lucrative trade prospects for its member businesses.
