Flydubai has entered into a new MoU with Boeing to purchase 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking a significant advancement in Dubai’s long-term aviation agenda.
Finalised during the Dubai Airshow 2025, the agreement enhances the airline’s ongoing fleet expansion and renewal plans, ensuring it can effectively meet rising global travel demand.
The Dubai-based airline noted that this milestone arrangement supports its commitment to fulfilling the emirate’s forward-looking aviation ambitions.
During the signing ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, formalised the MoU with Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, in the presence of flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “We are delighted to enter into a new agreement with Boeing. Proactive fleet planning is fundamental to ensuring we remain ready to meet the increasing appetite for travel, which we fully expect to continue rising.”
“Anticipating future demand is crucial to the success of any airline, and today’s announcement reflects our firm commitment to this approach.”
“Dubai’s environment — distinguished by superior infrastructure, progressive regulations, open-skies policies, and its ability to attract global talent — offers a strong foundation for flydubhai’s continued growth.”
“We are proud to place another 737 MAX order with Boeing, a long-standing and trusted partner that has significantly contributed to the scale of our current network. Consistent aircraft availability and punctual deliveries are essential for industry expansion, and this agreement strengthens our ability to grow while refreshing the fleet.”
“I would like to express my appreciation to our team for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts, coupled with Dubai’s bold vision, fuel our confidence in the opportunities ahead, including our role in the expansion of Dubai World Central.”
The new MoU enables flydubai to leverage the flexibility and commonality of the 737 MAX family, allowing it to utilise the varied size and range of the 737-8, 737-9, and 737-10 models to support its network development.
